London: Britain’s Jonnie Peacock on Thursday won the “Battle of the Blade Runners”, taking track king Oscar Pistorius’ 100m crown in a new Paralympic record.
Peacock, 19, won in 10.90sec, eighteen-hundredths of a second below his previous Games best, ahead of US sprinter Richard Browne, who was second in 11.03sec and South Africa’s Arnu Fourie, who ran 11.08sec for bronze.
Pistorius, who on Sunday could only manage silver in the 200m he won in Beijing, was fourth in 11.17sec.
