Karachi: Former Pakistani Olympian and boxer Jan Mohammad Baloch died at the age of 72 on Wednesday after suffering from cancer.
Although the deceased Olympian made many achievements for Pakistan but he was living hand to mouth in the last stages of his life.
In February 2012, Sindh Sports Minister Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah announced a grant in aid of Rs0.5 million for ailing former international boxer.
While Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad presented Legend Award to Baloch for his services in fist-fighting as boxer and coach. The former Olympian represented Pakistan in Munich Olympics 1972 held in West Germany.
The funeral prayers of the deceased boxer would be performed in Lyari, an old society of Karachi.
