Islamabad: The US ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter on Monday demanded Pakistan to take serious actions against the banned outfits working in the country.
The demand of the US ambassador came after Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) is carrying out a ‘long march’ against the government for the reopening of Nato supplies. Banned outfits including Jammat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jammat were also participating in the march.
During his meeting with Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik, the ambassador said that Pakistan should take necessary steps for the safeguard of Nato supplies as the law and order situation in Pakistan was not satisfactory after the reopening of the supplies.
“Pakistan should take necessary steps for the protection of US diplomats and citizens living in the country,” he said.
On the occasion, the adviser on Interior Affairs assured the US ambassador for providing fool proof security to the foreigners including US citizens and said that maintaining law and order in the country is the no 1 priority of the government.
