Islamabad: The British High Commission had refused visa to Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, sources said on Friday.
The sources said that the Maulana had applied for the visa on June 15 as he was to participate in a meeting of the Jamiat in the UK.
According to the sources the British High Commission returned his passport with an excuse.
It is to mention here that the United States had also refused to grant visa to the Maulana last year.
The Maulana holds great sway in most of the seminaries of Pakistan’s hardline Deobandi sect and draw political power from Khber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces of Pakistan.
