Islamabad: The Taliban have denied that they had taken instructions from Pakistan to send representatives to Qatar to participate in the negotiation with the United States.
The Taliban categorically said its representative didn’t go to Qatar with the permission of Pakistan, adding that they took decisions of its own likings in all matters and affairs in light of Islamic principles and national interests.
“The Islamic Emirate is completely free and independent in all of its affairs,” the statement noted.
The US and its western allies have been accusing Pakistan of patronizing the Taliban and blamed several militants’ attack on foreign targets to the insurgents allegedly based in Pakistan’s tribal region near Afghan border.
