Lahore: Pakistan’s Prime Minster Raja Pervez Ashraf on Monday pressed on the importance for the institutions to work within their domain and said that Pakistan People’s Party has always respected the judiciary.
Talking to media representatives in Lahore, Pervez Ashraf said that all institutions should work within their jurisdiction in order to pull out the country from crisis.
“All institutions should have respect for the parliament,” he said adding that the PPP would never undermine the esteem of the judiciary.
“This is an election year,” the PM declared adding that elections would continue to happen in the country.
The Prime Minister said that the plant of democracy would soon turn into a powerful tree.
Raja Pervez Ashraf invited opposition parties to join him in early selection of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) to ensure transparent, free and fair election in the country.
“The opposition should come forward to the selection of CEC which is vital for the smooth and reliable electoral process ahead,” said the prime minister while addressing the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab chapter’s meeting at the Governor’s House here on Friday.
