Islamabad: Former law minister Babar Awan is flexing his muscles to give tough time to the Pakistan People’s Party, for whom he had been putting his political career at stake.
Mr Awan, who had been seen at TV channels criticizing courts and judges while putting defence of his party and President Asif Ali Zardari, has now turned his guns towards PPP.
The fact was evident from his plea against the government which he filed to the Islamabad High Court, seeking orders against illegal allotment of plots.
He prayed to the court to seek record of all those plots allotted by the government in the capital and cancel their allotments.
Political analysts are of the view that had the former minister not been so much hostile to rival parties, he would have been offered a slot in one of the popular political parties of the country.
They said Awan was able to squeeze the government as he remained part of closed door “business” during four years of the PPP’s stint .
