Karachi: Shell Eco-marathon is an initiative taken by Shell that challenges student teams from around the globe to design, build and test their energy-efficient vehicles.
The vehicle travelling the farthest against a liter of fuel stands out as the winner.
Shell eco marathon provides an excellent opportunity for the students to learn and hone the practical aspects of knowledge that are being taught to them in school, colleges and universities. For the year 2012, Shell Eco Marathon will be held at Sepang International Circuit Track, Malaysia.
Team NUST PNEC URBAN consists of a group of ambitious undergrads from Pakistan Navy Engineering College (NUST) Karachi who are eyeing to earn an unprecedented prestige for Pakistan in this global event.
All the necessary preparations have been made in this regard. A fuel efficient vehicle has been manufactured by the team named as “BOLT” which is all set to participate in this race of super mileage vehicles.
BOLT is an Urban concept vehicle which is a more realistic road worthy vehicle.
BOLT has successfully gone through its manufacturing and health inspection phase and is giving a staggering mileage of more than 100km against a liter of fuel.
We are quite confident that BOLT will compete well against the rest of the Asia. Looking on to our preparations, we are quite hopeful to register a robust display in Malaysia.
Competing against the rest of Asia, lifting Pakistan’s flag and keeping it high amidst other nations’ and doing so winning something are the real challenges.
At the moment, we are feeling a soaring sense of responsibility. Going in the competition, to perform well, securing Pakistan’s pride and showing the world that Pakistanis are second to none are our prime objectives.
