Islamabad: Transmission of DawnNews has started to be interrupted in many areas of Pakistan, apparently in an attempt to stop what Pakistani journalist Talat Hussain has to say about ‘Riaz Thekaydar’, as he termed it, and Mediagate in his programme ‘News Night with Talat’.
People in some parts of Islamabad (Sector I-8, I-9. I-10), Taxila, Sargodha, Lahore, Hyderabad, Wah Cantt and Peshawar are being deprived of watching the channel, DawnNews reported.
Local residents said it is not due to the power load-shedding, and in fact, some cable operators are trying to interrupt DawnNews transmission.
Talat Hussain has come hard on Bahria Town’s owner Malik Riaz since the scandal against Chief Justice of Pakistan’s son, Arsalan Iftikhar has surfaced.
Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has taken notice of the incident.
