Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Tuesday expressed concern over threatening Pakistan’s well known human rights activist and former president of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Asma Jahangir.
In a statement issued from MQM Headquarter 90, the party chief expressed complete solidarity with the human right activist and urged government to take actions against the people responsible for it.
“Asma should be provided with fool proof security,” the chief said adding that threatening a human right activist is an alarming situation.
Earlier Asma Jahangir has said that she would not leave the country despite reeving life threats.
Pointing toward Pakistani rulers she said that the government would be responsible if something happened to her.
Mrs Jahangir said that establishment wanted everyone to obey it. She claimed that efforts were put to eliminate progressives.
