Karachi: Chris Tyas will replace Ian James Donald as Managing Director of Nestle Pakistan in upcoming months with new plans, strategies and goals.
Possessing a dynamic experience in the field of supply chain management, Tyas will streamline the operations of Nestle in the local markets with increasing output and sales of company’s multiple brands.
He is presently serving as Group Director of Nestlé UK. In this role Mr. Tyas is responsible within Nestlé UK and Ireland for Logistics, Information Systems, Purchasing and Facilities, and dealing with customers and suppliers, big and small.
Chris started his career from Mars Company and served it for 5 years, which proved to be a great training ground according to him. Afterwards, he was hired Nestlé, where he has been associated and worked on different positions.
Nestle, a Switzerland based nutrition producing company, has expanded its business tremendously in urban and rural areas of Pakistan in the past couple of years.
The profit and revenues witnessed handsome growth from 2010 to 2011 as the profit of the company up by 56.6 percent and revenues increased by 58 percent.
Nestle Pakistan profits and revenues stood at Rs 4.7 billion and Rs 64.8 billion by 2011 as compared with profits and revenues recorded in 2010 at Rs 3 billion and Rs 41 billion.
The business profitability and strategy had been successful in the past two years as the company was witnessed as one of most preferred one in equity market. It share value was stood at Rs 66.27 in 2010, which went to Rs 102.94, showing 55 percent growth.
Nestle already has a gigantic infrastructure in Pakistan. The company collects milk from over 190,000 farmers spread out over an area of about 145,000 square kilometers.
The outgoing MD of Nestle, Ian J Donald, has made a three years business expansion plan of Rs 320 million Swiss Francs in its presence in Pakistan’ rural and urban markets.
