Karachi: Lawyers across the country are observing ‘Black Day’ over massacre on May 12, 2007, killing over 50 persons in Karachi.
The legal fraternity observes this day against the killing of dozens of people belonging to different political forces as well as common man in the violence that seized the city of Karachi on May 12, 2007.
The day is being observed on the appeal of Secretary General Supreme Court Bar Association. The SCBA secretary general has pledged that lawyers would continue their struggle till the arrest and punishment of the killers.
He has appealed to the Chief Justice to take suo moto notice of the killing of innocent people in 2007.
The bar councils and lawyers would wave black flags at the courts, bar offices and hold meetings asking the government to conduct investigation into the killing of over 50 people.
