Karachi: The Department of Public Administration, University of Karachi organised Alumni Dinner in which the alumni of all previous batches of the department were invited.
“University of Karachi is on the verge of bridging gap between the academia and the corporate world. It is fortunate that its alumni are enjoying reputable status in the job market”, said the Vice-Chancellor, KU, Prof. Dr Muhammad Qaisar while speaking on the occasion.
The objective behind inviting a large number of DPA alumni was to bring them closer to the existing graduates of the department so that they could learn from their experiences and could strive for a better place in the professional corporate world, informed the chairperson Department of Public Administration Prof. Dr. Khalid Iraqi.
Dr. Iraqi said that the event presented an opportunity to reunite and to celebrate the achievements and contributions of the department and to share them with the global business community. He regarded it an exceptional opportunity to socialise, network and meet other professionals.
On this occasion, the ex-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui was also invited. While delivering a speech, he encouraged the efforts made by the department and said that the DPA had efficiently carved a reputable niche in the corporate world, within a deficient period, by serving the public and private sector with capable and quality professionals.
Dean Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr Abuzar Wajidi said that the university had always tried to provide recognition to its students because their recognition was the recognition of the university.
While declaring the aim of his faculty he said that their goal was to become more than an institution to its treasured students by welding them into competitive managers and inculcating the values of integrity and diligence. Maximizing the human resource capacity of our country should be the core essentials of a responsible public administrator, he added.
A large number of KU faculty members, students and alumni of the Department of Public Administration graced the occasion by their presence.
