Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani should step down after being convicted in contempt of court case.
Talking to media after the apex court judgment, Khan said that PM Gilani had lost ethical right to rule the country.
Earlier, seven-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan headed by Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk convicted the prime minister for contempt of court for not writing letter to Swiss officials.
The court punished the prime minister till the rising of the court and convicted him according to Article 63-1G of the constitution.
However, Prime Minister Gilani said that verdict against him was inappropriate.
