Idlib: Four civilians were killed on Wednesday after Syrian security forces shot up a bus in the northern province of Idlib, activists claimed.
The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said the four were killed at a checkpoint on the main road from Aleppo to the capital.
The largely anti-Assad town east of the capital had been under constant shelling and was without water, power or mobile phone signal, a woman who visited Douma last night said.
The latest violence, occurring two days after 31 people were killed in Hama city immediately after UN ceasefire monitors left the area, may prompt more diplomatic pressure on Damascus. “The situation in Syria continues to be unacceptable,” former UN Secretary-General and ceasefire broker Kofi Annan said, according to a transcript.
