Damascus: A blast near Iran’s cultural office in Damascus (capital of Syria) wounded on Tuesday at least three Syrians, mocking the ceasefire in the country, Press TV reported.
The bomb was planted in a car. Syrian government claimed that terrorist armed groups were to blame for the episode.
Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani, Iran’s Ambassador to Syria, said in an interview with Mehr news agency that Iran’s cultural office was not the target.
The country has been facing unrest since mid-March 2011. Although peace has been restored in most parts of the country with a ceasefire that came into effect on April 12, there have been reports of serious clashes in some areas.
