London: Pakistani students would face a compulsory interview while applying for Britain visa. New measures are being introduced by Britain to stop fake students, and by the looks of it 40 per cent of students would be found ineligible.
Home Secretary Theresa May will soon announce such measures which restrict Pakistani students to pass through an interviewing process by British Council in Pakistan.
Every year, around 10,000 visas are granted to students from Pakistan, a British website cited.
The face-to-face interview with British officials has been made compulsory after a constant rise was seen in the number of Pakistani applicants and it was feared that many of them were bogus.
Presently, the student visa system is paper-based and applicants are not restricted to give interview to concerned officials, they only have to fill in application forms.
