Islamabad: Pakistan’s former ambassador to US Hussain Haqqani has written letter to Research in Motion (RIM), BlackBerry company to surrender his right of privacy, said Zahid Buhkhari, counsel for the former envoy on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Bukhari prayed to the memo commission to postpone its proceedings for five days. The lawyer said that the Supreme Court was expected to hear the application of Hussain Haqqani for recording his testimony through video link from London.
Speaking to media Bukhari said that he had also attached medical certificates of Haqqani with application for postponement that hindered the former ambassador from travelling.
The lawyer said that doctors had advised Mr Haqqani not to travel.
The memo commission would begin its proceedings on Thursday. The commission had provided Huqqani with last opportunity for appearing before it to record his statement, refusing his request to record testimony through video link.
