Karachi: Traders and transporters in Pakistan have rejected the hike in the prices of petroleum products in country and threatened the government to launch civil disobedience.
The traders in Karachi have given an ultimatum of three days to government to withdraw increase in petroleum prices.
The traders have threatened the government to launch civil disobedience movement in the first phase while in Lahore the traders have also demanded the government to decrease petroleum prices.
All Pakistan Transport Owners Association (APTOA) has given deadline to government till 8:00pm tonight for withdrawal of POL prices and said that if the petroleum product prices were not revised they would raise fares.
They said inter-city fares would be increase by 5 and CNG by 10 percent while the fares would be hiked by 20 percent during CNG closure.
The Government on Saturday dropped petrol, diesel and gas bombs on masses by once again increasing the prices of petrol by Rs 8.02 and that of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by 11.98 per liter for region one and by Rs 9.93 for region two.
