Karachi: Jang Group of Publication, Pakistan’s largest media group, faced another blow on Wednesday for the second consecutive day as unidentified men carried out attack on one of the vehicles carrying thousands of newspapers for distribution early in the morning.
According to a Geo News report truck driver Sardar told that unidentified men on motorcycles intercepted the Jang Press circulation truck at MT Khan Road and took him to Hijrat Colony.
The river told that the abductors took ‘Jang’ and ‘The News’ newspapers along that were later found burnt in another truck near passport office.
On Tuesday armed riders smashed windows of ‘Geo News’ satellite van and resorted to firing outside the office at I.I. Chundrigar road.
Renowned journalist Hamid Mir says that the Tuesday attack was carried out by the Awami National Party (ANP) workers. He said ANP chief Asfand Yarwali Khan tender apology for the attack.
ANP and some other political parties in Karachi accuse Jang group of giving more time and space to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
