Dhaka: Bangladesh qualifies for the final of Asia Cup 2012 against Pakistan as they defeated Sri Lanka in the sixth and the most important match of the tournament by five wickets at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, capital city of Bangladesh, here on Tuesday.
Tamim Iqbal who scored 59 runs remained the top scorer from Bangladeshi side along with Shakaib-al-Islam 56, Nasir Hussain 36 and Mahmudullah 32 which helped them to defeat Lankan’s in the important match.
The Sri Lankan bowlers failed to bowl out a comparatively weaker side. Nuwan Kulasekra and Sachithra Senanayake shared two wickets from Lankan side along with Suranga Lakmal who took one wicket.
Earlier Srilanka scored 232 runs but the target was later set to 212 due to Duckworth Lewis method.
Pakistan and Bangladesh will play the final of the tournament on March 22.
