Mirpur: Dhaka Gladiators have won the first Bangladesh Premier League titleĀ after beating Barisal Burners with eight wickets with the help of outstanding performances by Pakistan players at Mirpur on Wednesday.
Barisal Burners set a reasonable target of 141 for Dhaka Gladiators in 20 overs.
But Imran Nazir provided a flashy start to its team and made 75 runs in just 43 balls with the help of six boundaries and six sixes. While Anamul Haque and chipped in with 49 runs.
Earlier, Gladiators bowlers restricted strong batting line-up of Burners to 140 runs with the lost of seven wickets. Amazingly all wickets was taken by Pakistan bowlers including Shahid Afridi (three), Rana Naved-ul-Hasan (two) and Saeed Ajmal took (one) wicket while one players was run out.
Man of the Match award was given to Imran Nazir. While Shakib-ul-Hasan was named Man of the Series.
