Lahore: The Lahore High Court on Monday admitted a plea to regular hearing, seeking orders against the detention of Brig Ali Khan by the army.
LHC judge Justice Ijaz Afzal was hearing an application filed by Brig Khan’s wife through her lawyer Col Retd Inam Raheem.
The application contended that Mr Khan was illegally kept in solitary confinement since 2011. The applicant also sought permission for having a meeting with Brig Ali Khan.
The LHC issued notice to defence ministry for March 1 and accepted the plea for regular hearing.
Khan was arrested last year by army on the allegation of having links with proscribed Islamist outfit the Hizb ut Tehreer .
