Karachi: Senior Minister for Education Pir Mazharul Haq has said that on the pattern of school specific budget, college specific budget will be started from the next year to solve the problems of the colleges in the province. The minister has established Sindh endowment trust to provide scholarships to needy students of Sindh who cannot afford fees of higher education institutions.
He said this while addressing as a chief guest in Annual Sports day of Government college for women Shahrah-e-Quaideen here on Saturday.
He said that sports should be essential part of curriculum in government education institution and the government would encourage all the activities whether curriculum & extra curriculum activities.
He said that Sindh Education Department had reduced fees structure for the students and had taken revolutionary steps to improve education standard in Sindh.
He assured the college administration that their all problems regarding shortage of the teachers will be solved soon. He advised the teachers community not to play politics in the educational institutions and to pay attention towards teaching process.
On this occasion the minister announced 10 lac rupees for the college and said that two lac rupees would be spent on cash prizes to the participants of annual sports day, while 8 lac rupees would be utilized on small development works in the college.
While the Principal, Professor Rubina Jamsheed Soomro presented welcome note to the senior Minister. Female students of the college presented national anthem and Physical therapy that was enjoyed and appreciated by the audience.
