Islamabad: The Government of Japan on Thursday announced an aid of Rs8.2 million for the betterment of women of Gilgit-Baltistan.
An agreement for the betterment of women in Gilgit-Baltistan was signed by Japanese ambassador to Pakistan, Hiroshi Oe and Sakina Bibi, president of Al-Shahbaz women’s organization during a ceremony at resident of Japanese ambassador in Islamabad.
According to the agreement, amount to be spent on the construction of office in Gilgit-Baltistan, furniture and equipments for training.
The main aim of the project was to educate the women regarding stitching work, makeup work and candles making.
On the occasion, Hiroshi Oe said that Japan would continue its policy to provide financial aid to Pakistan in order to train deprived women of the country.
He further said that Japanese aid would strengthen the relationships between the people of both nations.
