Brisbane: Sri Lanka have beaten India by 51-runs in an important match in the Commonwealth Bank Series at Brisbane here on Tuesday.
Replying to a massive target of 290, India failed to achieve and all team were returned to pavilion on 238 runs. Virat Kohli was the highest scorer who made 66 runs. While Irfan Pathan also chipped in with quick 47 runs in just 34 deliveries with seven boundaries.
Thisara Perera was the best bowler for Sri Lanka who picked up four wickets and helped his team to get the important win. While Nuwan Kulasekara took three, Lasith Malinga took two and Ferveez Maharoof taken one wicket as well.
Earlier, Sri Lankan batsmen showed maturity and helped their team to make a massive score against strong batting line-up.
