Peshawar: A suicide bomber blew himself up in a busy market in Hangu district of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killing at least 21 people and injuring 40 others , sources said on Friday.
The sources said that the blast took place in a market in Parachinar area of the district. Rescue workers rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and injured to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ). Hospital sources said that several injured were critical condition and death toll might increase.
Heavy contingent of police and paramilitary forces cordoned off the area and collected evidences.
The sources said that many shops were also destroyed in the blast.
More than 35,000 people have been killed in Pakistan during its fight against militants since 2008.
