Austria: The Dutch government has confirmed that Prince Friso was hit in an avalanche and said his “life remains at risk” after being hospitalized.
The government information services has said that the second son of Queen Beatrix, Fiasco was buried by an avalanche in the ski resort of Lech and has been admitted to an Innsbruck hospital.
The statement said that “doctors treating him describe the prince’s condition as stable, but his life remains at risk.”
Prime Minister Mark Rutte confirmed that the queen was there but had not been involved in the incident.
Members of the royal family were skiing in the Austrian mountain village of Lech, which has been hit by heavy snowfall in recent days.
