England’s Captain Alastair Cook marvelous batting projected a fighting target of 260 runs to Pakistan. He firmly stood on the wicket and made 137 runs from 142 balls. Besides him, Ravi Bopara managed to make half century that proved to be healthy contribution towards a big total.
Pakistan bowlers failed to fix England batsmen early enough but spinners particularly Saeed Ajmal managed to get 5 wickets whereas Shahid Afridi performance was quite impressive. He took first two wickets.
In the chase of target, Pakistan batsmen again collapsed against English bowlers and returned one after another without fighting spirit. The early and continuous fall of wickets made the match one-sided and the whole team booked at 130 runs, the half of the total target, in 35 overs
English bowlers particularly Steven Finn destroyed Pakistan’s beating line completely with the support fellow spinner Greame Swann. He took 4 wickets against 34 runs.
