Dhaka: The first season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will start from February 9, 2012 with six teams taking part in the competition. It will be a round-robin-based format, followed by knock-out matches in the end.
The BPL starts from February 9 with the final to be played on February 29. All matches will be played at Dhaka and Chittagong.
Dhaka Gladiators, Barisal Burners, Chittagong Kings, Duronto Rajshahi, Khulna Royal Bengal and Sylhet Royals among the six teams.
Each team would play each of the others twice, to form 30 round-robin games. The top four teams in the points table at the end of the league stage will play in the semi-finals.
