Islamabad: The investigation committee of Sunni Itehad Council has suspended the membership of 4 leaders on the charge of taking grant from the American government. The names of suspended leaders have been learnt as Safdar Shah, Fazal ur Rehman Okarvi of Jamat-e-Ahlesunat, Hyder Alvi of Sunni Tehrik and Mudasir Shah.
The suspended leaders have sent a legal notice to the council leadership against the suspension decision.
Earlier it was emerged that US had made a donation of 35000 dollars to Sunni Ittehad Council in 2009 under its public diplomacy efforts.
