New York: Nike Inc introduced a wristband that measures everyday movement to try to motivate people to be more active and will provide information about time, calories, steps and NikeFuel.
The Nike+ FuelBand, which will sell for $149 in the United States starting on Feb. 22. NikeFuel is the company’s score that awards equal points for the same activity regardless of a person’s gender and body type.
Users set goals of how active they want to be each day, and the band displays 20 LED lights that go from red to green as they get closer to that goal. The band syncs with the Nike+ web-site through a USB, or through Bluetooth to a free iPhone app, to record activity and track daily progress.
