Islamabad: The Supreme Court on Friday sought government reply within two weeks over a petition, seeking to stop potential removal of Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and ISI chief Lt. Gen Ahmed Shuja Pahsa from their posts.
The court directed the attorney general to submit report in this effect within two weeks, as the apex court took a petition filed by ex defence secretary Naeem Khalid Lodhi through his lawyer F.K Butt.
Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq told the court that the government had no plans to remove the army and ISI chiefs from their posts.
The applicant requested the court to prevent government from taking such step, which was earlier taken against him (sect defence).
