Karachi: Keeping in view the aim to sever poor people for refractive errors and other eye diseases like Glaucoma and educate them about the prevention and cure, Hashmanis Medical & Welfare Association (HMWA) , a project of Hashmanis Hospital will be holding a free eye and glaucoma checkup camp on January 7 at Hashmanis Hospital.
According to a spokesman of Dr. Shareef Hashmani, Chairman, Hashmanis Hospital, Glaucoma is group of eye disorders that have few symptoms in their early stages, but eventually leads to damage of the optic nerve which can then lead to loss of side vision or complete blindness.
It is the leading cause of irreversible blindness. Regular eye exams are needed for proper diagnosis before significant damage is done. Treatments usually include prescription eyedrops and/or surgery.
He further said that the hospital was committed to provide diagnosis of disease. The service at the hospital are backed up by the highest doctor-to-patient and nurse-to-patient ratios and support services.
The Hospital’s multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and care ensures a continuum of safe and high quality care for patients with all services under one roof.
It also provides higher education and develops research pertinent to Pakistan at internationally accepted academic standards.
The overall mandate is to promote the welfare of the people of Pakistan. In this camp, medical team comprising eye specialists and paramedics will provide services during the camp.
