Durban: Sri Lanka stormed to victory by 208 runs on the fourth day of the second test against South Africa at Kingsmead, Durban here on Thursday.
Sri Lanka gave a huge target of 449-runs with the help of great knock by veteran Kumar Sangakkara of 108 and South Africa failed to achive the target and all team back to pavilion only on 241 runs.
Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath picked up 5-79, and match figures of 9-159, as the tourists bowled the hosts out for 241, with nine balls left in the day, to claim their first win in nine Tests in South Africa.
The victory was Sri Lanka’s first in 16 Tests stretching back to the middle of last year while the visitors levelled the three-Test series 1-1 with the deciding match scheduled to start in Cape Town on January 3.
