Exclusive interview with Pakistani singer ‘Jimmy Attre’

Recently The News Tribe conducted an interview with a popular Pakistani singer and musician Jimmy Attre. He is best known for the remixed single Zamana Nazuk Hai, which was also the title track of his first musical album with the same name. He comes from the third generation of the musical Attre family, with his grandfather Rasheed Attre having been a well known music composer and director of his time and also a Nigar Award winner and his uncle also having been in the musical industry.

Complexes: No complexes in life very much contended and proud of what I am.

What turns me on: Innocence of a beautiful girl and her long hair

Three things that I hate about music industry:

1-      Lack of a sincere record label.

2-     Monopoly and politics in music channels.

3-    Lack of Systems, structure and platform to promote artist on bigger scale that No one shall go to India for being insulted and humiliated.

Three things that I dislike about media:

 1-Fakeness of people

2- When media hide truth to make it more interesting

 3- Media sells lies to earn

If I could change one thing about myself, what it could be?

Though I stay happy in my isolation but I would still love to and want to socialize.

Characteristics that attract me as person: Humbleness, innocence and loving nature

Three Things I hate to do: Politics, back biting and waiting for food when I am hungry.

Three Things I love to do: Hiking, cooking and spending time with kids listening to their sweet early experiences.

As a kid I was: Very shy and not confident at all.

What I always put off until tomorrow: Everything LOL

My Craziest Fan: The one who pokes me after every minute on Facebook and I call her a Pokemon

Music to me is: The peace of mind if it’s the kind of music I like and that’s not heavy metal, rap and grunge.

Question I hate: Aap ki shadi kab hogi

Question I love: Yeh song aap nay kis k liyay bnaya hai lol

Food that makes me crazy: Italian food and off course, Desi food

Biggest Asset: My guitar, piano, studio and last but not least my talent that no one can snatch.

I define Success as: Being focused and being sincere to your self

A moment in life that was truly romantic: When I was at the top of Monaal Margalla hills Islamabad sitting on the rock with my guitar, singing and there were clouds not that high above me, that place was surrounded by lush green mountain. I can never forget those moments I thought I was in heaven.

What is the real me like: Decent, shy and love to stay quiet most of the time.

My idea of perfect happiness: Is to live and spend max of my time with family.

My idea of a Perfect date: Camping somewhere or staying in the hut somewhere in northern Pakistan opposite a beautiful lake or natural spring.

Three things that I like about myself: My humble and down to earth nature, I am always ready to support the truth and I love beauty of the nature that makes me praise Allah from the core of my heart.

Three things that I dislike about myself: I am lazy, careless and can never understand a woman
Biggest Regret: No regrets in life as such

Biggest Passion: Singing

Biggest Desire: Scuba diving and really want to have a hut on the perfect beautiful location in northern Pakistan.

Biggest Expectation: I expect people to be fair to them selves and others so that there would be no errors in relationships.

Favorite Pastime: Hanging out with friends late night

Favorite Song: It won’t be fair if I mention only few songs here.

Most Memorable Moment: First time when I discovered that I am a singer at the age of 3 or 4

Source of Learning: My Father and Family always supported me and the biggest source of learning besides there was a chip already installed in me “my genes” that helped me a lot in grooming myself regarding music.


I hate people who:
Who love to argue making it a matter of ego being overconfident. They should always remember such behavior closes their doors to learn more.

I admire people who: Who devote themselves for the welfare and popularity of the country and the nation like Imran Khan.

Favorite Season: Autumn and Winters

Favorite Travel Resorts: Shangrila Resort

Zodiac Sign: Leo

Biggest Strength: Is my musical talent as I have never heard people giving bad comments on it and the only quality that make me interesting for others. Otherwise I am such a boring person.

The biggest hurdle in my way: All this time I focused on my music and my weaker side is that I don’t know how to market it.

I see the future of Pakistani music as: Future of Pakistani music is good as we can see people are inclined towards it because of the awareness. Good talent is coming up as they are getting opportunities.

My message to readers: Each and every one of us is the ambassador of our country so we should show a great responsibility while representing it and always put a good image on others by showing the best of our character.
