Karachi: Nato has said the Pakistan Army has sent back the liaison officers to the border coordination centres who were called back after the deadly Nato strike in Mohmand Agency.
“We have seen liaison officers, Pakistani officers, return to border coordination centres. General Allen has spoken to General Kayani, so we are moving in the right direction,” International Security Assistance Force (ISAF spokesman Brigadier General Carsten Jacobson told reporters in Kabul.
He said the return of Pakistani officials to the coordination centres was no doubt an important development and also hoped that a decision will soon be taken on restoring Nato supplies to Afghanistan as it was in favour of Nato and Pakistan.
Pakistan’s military had earlier said the officers were not called back permanently instead they were only called for consultations.
“This impression is not correct that border coordination centres were closed and Pakistan Army officers at these centres were called back permanently,” an ISPR spokesman said in a statement.
