Karachi: Muhajir Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chairman Afaq Ahmed has been detained under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) for another month shortly after the court ordered his release here on Tuesday.
He was likely to be released as he had been acquitted from most of the cases and given bail in remaining.
Earlier, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) judge Khalida Yaseen directed the government to release Afaq Ahmed.
The court had granted him bail in Jameel Baloch kidnapping case on Saturday and the eventually the ATC ordered his release.
Afaq’s lawyer told the media that he would challenge the detention of his client in the court today (Tuesday).
