Karachi: A fresh survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan has revealed that Religious (42%), General Knowledge (32%), Fiction (26%) and Poetry (7%) are the top interests among readers of books in that order.
In a survey a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces were asked “What kind of books do you read normally?”
Responding to this, 28% claim that they read books daily, 35% read once a week, 9% read book once in two weeks (fortnightly) whereas 27% read once in a month. However 1% did not give a view.
Earlier, Gallup has been organizing a series a survey for one week in which it asked the people about the book reading. In those surveys around 39% people claimed that they fond of book reading while Pakistanis claimed to read books on a daily basis.
