Talking to The News Tribe correspondent, they said that the incident was intolerable and it was against the teachings of Islam and ideology of Pakistan.
They further said such brutal treatment of minorities would disturb the harmonious environment in the country. They called the government, political leadership of all parties, religious leaders and members of civil society to stand up together to protect Hindu, Christian and other minorities.
Muniba Gondal, District General Secretary Labour Party Pakistan (LPP), said Hindus and Christians were old natives of this land.
She said they were equally patriotic citizens of this land and their services to the nation were commendable.
Sheikh Saleem, a local leader of a new political party Mustaqbil Pakistan, said religion-based discrimination was on the increase in the society and that was very dangerous for the integrity and progress of the nation.
