Sharja: Former Pakistan coach Waqar Younus has called the conviction to three Pakistani cricketers given by a London court in spot-fixing case ‘a lesson for other players’.
Talking to media in Sharja on Friday, he said that being a coach when he asked Mohammad Amir, “why he did such a big no-ball.” Salman Butt quickly responded instead of Amir that he asked him for the no-ball.
The former Pakistan coach said that he had informed anti-corruption unit of ICC about the deliberated no-ball of Mohammad Amir.
He termed the prison term a great loss for Pakistan cricket. He also said that his sympathizes are not with the convicted players but with their family members.
