Karachi: A local court on Saturday issued verdict on an application filed by Rauf Siddiqui, seeking registration of an FIR under blasphemy law against former home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza.
The court reserved the verdict on Friday. Additional Session Judge South Abdur Razzaq directed police to record statement of Rauf Siddiqui and lodge an FIR if any offense took place within the remit of the Kalakot police station Lyari.
The judge also asked the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Rauf Siddiqui to register complaint in the police station.
Siddiqui had filed an application, seeking registration of case against Mirza uder the blasphemy law.
Chand Khan Niazi, SHO Kalakot Police Station on Friday submitted in the court that Mirza didn’t pass such remarks during his press conference in Lyari on Oct 9 that could lead to registration of a case against him. He had also submitted the video of the press conference.
