Abu Dhabi: Pakistan cricket team opener Taufeeq Umar has scored his first ever double ton in Abu Dhabi test against Sri Lanka.
Taufeeq has scored a seventh double-century by a Pakistan opener, and the first since 1992.
Pakistan’s batsman continued their responsible effort to put their side on driving seat on third day of the test.
Earlier, Pakistan lost Azhar Ali in seventh over of the morning, after that Taufeeq and Younis Khan ensured that Sri Lanka’s relief was temporary with an 82-run stand.
Welegedara took Younis’ wicket when he was standing at 33. Pakistan’s captain Misbah has also batted quite responsibly and scored 46 runs.
Taufeeq scored 236 runs to take Pakistan over 500 runs.Pakistan declared its inning at 511 for loss of 6 wicket with 314 runs lead.
Sri Lankan were managed to score only 197 run in their first inning.
