Karachi: Emerging power of Asia, India has been increasing its defence budget continuously and now it has reached to $36 billion, which is 72% higher than the previous five budgets.
According to investigation report of The News Tribe, India is now focusing to become a power of Asia and for this purpose they increases its budget instead of curbing poverty from the country.
India is the second biggest country in terms of population and a sixth strong economy of the world. But lacks basic facilities, including health, education, justice and employment.
Around 800 crore people of India are living below the poverty line and every hour on an average two people commit suicide because of poverty.
After these all problems, India has never focused to fulfill people’s requirement and is increasing war expenses.
According to a defence analytical report, in 2008-2009, the defence budget was $2.6 billion. In 2009-2010, India increased its budget to 34% and it reached to 3.2 billion dollar, in 2010-2011Â it reached to $33.8 billion after increasing 4%. And for the year 2011-2012, the budget has reached to 36.03 billion dollar.
India also the second biggest armed force of the world which has more than 3.7 million soldiers. According to different reports, Indian military includes 3.5 million army, 1 .7 million Indian Air Force while more than 67,000 Indian Navy.
Report shows that Indian Army divided into 18 cores and 34 divisions.
It also revealed that India has the force of 19,740 Coast Guards, around 3,978 tanks, more than 3000 war planes, 57 fighership and 16 marines.
