Srinagar: Senior Kashmiri leader Yaseen Malik was arrested during a sit-in against presence of mass graves in the disputed territory.
Malik told a Pakistani television via telephone that he had been arrested during a sit-in in suopur area.
He said that people of the valley were protesting against the atrocities of Indian authorities and missing of thousands of Kashmiris after Friday prayers.
He said that Indian police baton charged protesters who thronged the venue, demanding international inquiry against the recovery of mass graves.
The Kashmiri leader said that people foiled Indian police’s efforts to arrest him and his companions but subsequently he was held from a abandoned place.
