Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Khan Afridi was almost in the centre of controversy when six players of his Karachi Dolphin blamed him for the T20 Tournament debacle.
Six players Muhammad Sami, Khalid Latif, Shahzeb Hassan, Azam Hussain, Tanvir Ahmed and Wajeehuddin did not turn up in the training session of Karachi blues on Tuesday after their row with Afridi and Coach of Karachi Dolphins Saleem Jaffar, who is also coach of Karachi Blues. Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is scheduled to start from October 6.
Sources disclosed that all six players belong to Port Qasim team and they were unhappy with the way Afridi, led the team in T20. Yes, that cricketers have concerns over some issues included that of concerning Afridi, but national T20 was over, and Afridi is not in Karachi’s teams, so what’s wrong with them, I met today with Port Qasim`s coach former test captain Rashid Latif and we resolved the issue, Sirajul Islam Bukhari, President KCCA told Waqt TV.
However, another source claims, actually that boycott was a part of strategy as Qaid-e-Azam trophy is being held with the commencement of Grade II tournament, in which Port Qasim team is playing and all of them are also part of Port Qasim and they wanted to represent their department instead of Karachi.
