Islamabad: Decision has been taken to appoint Vice Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila as Chief of Naval staff, sources said on Wednesday.
According to the sources, Asif Sandila will take charge of the Pakistan Navy after Admiral Noman Bashir will retire from the post on Oct 8.
The source said that Sandila would meet President Asif Ali Zardari today.
 He was promoted from rear Admiral to the rank of Vice Admiral in Pakistan Navy on January 1st 2010.
