Islamabad: Jamiat Ulemai Islam-Fazl (JUI) chief Maulna Fazlur Rehman said on Friday that the United States has decided to destabilise Pakistan before pulling out its troops from Afghanistan.
While talking to journalists Fazl said “American policies reflect contradictions as on one hand they were trying to held negotiations with Afghan Taliban while on the other hand they are putting up pressure on Pakistan to go after Haqqani network”. He said that the US would soon raise the issue of Quetta Shura.
“Maulana Jalaluddin Haqqani is the part of Taliban from the day first and we gave them nomenclature of Haqqani network”, Fazl said. “US wants to push Pakistan into war”
He added that the Afghan Taliban were pro Pakistan and the Taliban card will be in Pakistan’s hands in any future peace deal.
The JUI chief said that Pakistan should not launch military offensive in Waziristan against the Haqqanis as it would prove disastrous.
Fazl said that the APC was the last hope for the people of Pakistan, adding that had previous resolution been implemented the US would not have bullied Pakistan.
He suggested that Pakistan should adopt strong stance against US demands of launching offensive in Waziristan as it would be disastrous. He told reporters that the APC agreed to form new foreign policy. “If US doesn’t withdraw allegations Pakistan should review its cooperation policy with international community.
Fazl said that China and Russia should be approached so that any US bid to impose sanctions on Pakistan in UN could be thwarted.
He deplored that there were difference in the thinking of the messes and the government.
