Rawalpindi: Head of US Central Command General James Mattis met Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asfhfaq Pervez Kayani and discussed issues ranging from bilateral relations, Haqqni network and overall security situation of the region.
Cent Com chief who arrived here today amid growing tensions between both the countries raised the issue of Haqqni network.
According to sources, Gen Kayani protested over cross border attacks on Pakistani territory from the Afghan soil.
 The sources said that Pakistan’s powerful army chief demanded immediate end to the cross border attacks.
The top US commander is visiting Pakistan at the time when relations between both the allies in the war against terrorism are the lowest level after the US top officials accused Pakistan of supporting Haqqani network and involvement of ISI on the US embassy attack in Kabul.
 Kayani on Friday rejected all the allegations and termed them as baseless.
