Hague: As Pakistan complained, International Court of Justice has issued interim ordered to India to stop construction of Kishan-Ganga Dam.
Pakistan submitted an application in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding Indian construction of Kishan-Ganga Dam, blocking Pakistan’s water which, according to government of Pakistan, was an open violation of Indus water Treaty. After observing Islamabad’s complain ICJ issued interim order to Indian government that stop building further construction unless the case resolve.
It was the unanimous decision of ICJ panel conducting the case.
ICJ restricted New Dehli that it could not build any construction at Gurez that block Islamabad’s water.
According to the ICJ order separate teams of both the countries would visit the place to resolve the issue. ICJ team would also observe the place.
Pakistan’s Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said Pakistan had submitted the application in the ICJ and now India could not build permanent construction of River Neelum.
